David Ginola hospitalised in Monaco
Much debate over the health of international footballer David Ginola
The football legend, originally from Gassin, near Saint Tropez, has been admitted to the cardiothoracic centre of Monaco after suffering a heart attack on Thursday afternoon in Mandelieu.
French news have reported that the former international football played, David Ginola, 49, suffered a cardiac arrest around 16:30 on Thursday afternoon in Mandelieu. He was attending a golf competition between personalities from the world of sports, actors, musicians or journalists; the 5th edition of the Mapauto Golf Cup. The incident apparently occurred on the football field of the residence of Jean-Stéphane Camerini, the organizer of the Mapauto Golf Cup.
Ginola was then airlifted to the cardiothoracic unit in Monaco. A tweet was later posted on his official Twitter feed (@TeamGinola) making light of his collapse.
"Footy match in the midday sun, not very clever. Now having some tests done," it read. "Whoever voted for a World Cup in Qatar in the summer?"
However some reports have stated that it was his manager who sent the tweet and that Ginola himself is in a coma. Messages of support for the much loved former football star, actor and model, have been pouring in on social networks.
