The German Formula One star, Nico Rosberg, was on a jetty in Monte Carlo playing with his seven month old daughter when he saw the young boy struggling in the sea.

Leaving his daughter, safely in a cot on a jetty, he dove into the sea fully clothed to swim to the boys rescue. The five year-old boy’s parents were sitting on the beach and were totally unaware their son had been dragged into trouble by the dangerous undertow.

The incident is reported to have taken place two weeks ago and Rosberg's management have confirmed the story, however, the F1 star has not made any comment.

Rosberg is a strong swimmer and in fact a former triathlon competitor. He now resides in Monaco and won his fifth consecutive Grand Prix in Bahrain on Sunday 3rd April 2016.
