According to an American news publication the former home of Princess Grace of Monaco, in East Falls Philidelphia, has been purchased by the Royal Family here in Monaco.

Reports are as yet unconfirmed but according to sources the property was on the market earlier this year for $1 million and has indeed been sold. The house, built by Princess Grace's father in the late 1920s, was home to the Kelly family up until 1974.

Royalty of the entertainment world also connects the two countries this month as the Princess Grace Foundation-USA has announced that actress, singer, songwriter and producer, Queen Latifah, will accept the prestigious Prince Rainier III Award. Queen Latifa is being acknowledged for her contribution to the arts in a ceremony that will take place in New York later this month. Previous winners include Julie Andrews, Dick Van Dyke and Robert Redford.

Prince Albert II, son of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier lll, and his wife Princess Charlene will both be attending the gala. HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco said, "We are privileged to present this year's Prince Rainier lll Award to Queen Latifah. She has demonstrated a devotion to helping others throughout her illustrious career as an award-winning actress, musician, and producer. Her deep commitment to AIDS and cancer research and to programs that help the hungry, youth, women and LGBTQ community have made a difference in the lives of so many."

Maybe the royal couple will squeeze in a trip to their new house in Philadelphia while they are in America...
